COMMUNITY HUB

HOME FROM HOME FOR OUR MEMBERS

Piha SLSC has a long history and has been home to some of the most influential watermen and women of the modern era. The building itself has seen three life cycles and our current clubhouse is a facility that is not only fit-for-purpose, but one that opens it's doors and feels like home to so many.

OUR PLACE, YOUR SPACE

Throughout the winter months, when the Clubhouse is not being utilised as frequently by our members, and when the restaurant is closed, we invite local community groups to come and use our space. For band practise, meetings, community exercise - you are all welcome. Just pop us an email and tell us what you need.

COMMUNITY WELFARE CENTRE

Piha SLSC is well located and resourced to be one of the principal sites for housing those in need during an emergecy situation. With the recent addition of a generator, the Clubhouse can now provide for community needs when the locality has been cut off from power, and isloated geographically due to flooding events and landslides.

The proximity of Piha SAR Squad members, and the presence of an onsite Club Custodian means that the Clubhouse can be effectively switched into emergency response mode very quickly.

Piha SLSC as a Welfare Centre is only a small part of the wider Piha Resilience Plan which is being steered by the Piha Ratepayers and Residents Association (Piha R&RA).
